Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our paving products, installation, and maintenance.

All our products are cast concrete products – only the very best materials have been sourced to ensure the best possible product – a variety of sands, granite aggregates, iron oxides, and PPC Cement.

It is the ideal way to lay this type of tile as it adheres well and creates a sufficient bond between tile and concrete base or screeded floor.

The colour cannot fade over time, all products are manufactured using imported iron oxides. In fact the colour will get better the more wear the product gets.

Efflorescence represents a milky white bloom on surfaces that’s mistakenly interpreted as colour loss. This phenomenon typically disappears through natural weathering, depending on location, traffic, and usage patterns.

It is advised that acidic cleaning be used only in extreme cases and that natural weathering and time will generally be the best treatment.

No, all products are suitable to be laid around pools with salt chlorinators and will not be affected by the water. However products will be damaged or stained by acids and other pool chemicals.

No, product deterioration and discolouring will occur in the long term. Any water running over the surface for an extended period of time will cause surface erosion.

Tiles measure 15–25mm and require concrete bases with adhesive; pavers measure 40–55mm and can be laid directly on prepared, compacted sub-bases.

Cast simulated stone products should only be installed by suitably experienced tilers, pavers or stone masons.

Products possess natural stone characteristics making them non-slip, though sealing increases slipperiness when wet.

All products are available in any colour (see standard colours list), there is continuity in colour as orders are custom made to order and all colours can be reproduced at any stage in the future.

No, all products manufactured are embodied to ensure excellent long term wear and appearance.

Dark patches result from differential weathering where surfaces cure at varying rates. These typically diminish with time and efflorescence removal.

Regular washing and brushing maintains patios adequately; acidic cleaners may enhance appearance but should be used sparingly (2–3 times over the lifetime of the product).

Sealing protects undercover patios from stains, though it darkens colour slightly and reduces non-slip properties.

Yes, our tiles have been used indoors for years and have many advantages over traditional ceramic and clay tiles. However, if not maintained correctly they can become stained and unsightly.

Products feature internal pre-sealer additives that repel water, reduce efflorescence risk, and enhance aesthetic life, durability, and abrasion resistance.

Beverage stains require scrubbing with hot soapy water; oil stains need absorption with powder then weathering; paint requires immediate scrubbing with scouring powder without paint removers.

Our cast concrete klompies are not firebricks and cannot be used in a fireplace with an open flame. They can be used on the outside of fireplaces.

No – please note the downstand of the coping that hangs into the pool may not ever have water on it permanently. The pool water acidity will attack the product surface.

Products stored indoors generate moisture during curing, making them appear darker; they lighten upon installation and exposure to the elements.
